I don’t need to tell you that we are in an extraordinary situation. A situation that puts you to the test as an entrepreneur and forces you to be creative. Healthy companies that were making millions in sales a month ago are now shutting down and being forced to do things differently. In particular, the path to expanding online operations and online sales is most obvious. And this is where we can help.

Last week, together with the team, we looked at how we as Brthrs & Sstrs can do our part to help the entrepreneurs of the Netherlands who are in dire straits. Five solutions emerged from that. See below for my first “vlog” ever.

Solution 1

Together with the GeluksBV (Utrecht), we are the initiators of the app“De Geweldige Wijk.” The Great Neighborhood is an iOS and Android app designed to help those less fortunate. It works very simply. You create a profile and if you need help you can ask a question, which other people can respond to if they want to help. Currently, the app is being used successfully by the Municipality of Meppel. Until today, the app was only available to residents of that municipality. We have now changed that.

The app now available in all municipalities

The coronavirus and its measures are turning our entire social life upside down. There is fear, there is worry, and where people are affected, there is grief. At the same time, many heartwarming initiatives are emerging from people who want to help others. To make it easier for those help seekers and givers to connect with each other, we decided to make the Geweldige Wijk app available for free to everyone in the Netherlands and to all municipalities starting today. With the app you can easily request or offer help in your neighborhood or community

What makes this app different

One naturally wonders what makes the Great Neighborhood different from all other initiatives. All users indicate which categories they can help in. When a question is asked in this category, all users in the same category receive a push notification. This will get your question resolved faster. Also, the help provider can choose which request for help he or she wants to respond to, after which provider and requester can first chat with each other to coordinate.

The Great Neighborhood app is available for free download on the Play Store and App Store.

Solution 2

The corona crisis has left many people relying on online services. But many websites and apps, unfortunately, are not yet accessible to everyone. While it often only takes a few minor adjustments to make these services a lot more accessible. That’s why we now offer to check your website or app for digital accessibility and apply any quick wins immediately. This allows everyone to safely use online services from home. Do the quick quick scan now and we will contact you.

Solution 3

All existing and new customers will receive half a day free from us. These hours can be used, for example, to make your website or app “Corona Ready.”

Solution 4

Scheduled is a platform that allows you to schedule text messages or messages for your messengers. We saw a big increase in the number of messages scheduled and sent in the last two weeks. We therefore gave all our existing paid users 25 free SMSs. This is because staying in touch is extra important during these times.

Solution 5

Many entrepreneurs are having a very tough time right now. The hospitality industry and retailers are hit especially hard. As entrepreneurs at heart, this concerns us and we would like to do our part. This is why we offer our web shop development services at a very reduced rate.
