Installing TestFlight is completely free. Apps you install on your iPhone via TestFlight are identified by the orange ball in front of the app name. That is to indicate that this is a test version. The app will presumably not run smoothly.
If you use an app from TestFlight, certain features will not fully work. It is, after all, a beta, a trial version.
