What is a source code?

A source code is the underlying code of a website or app. Websites are basically the visual representation of source code. Within an Internet browser, you can see the source code of any Web site. With an app, this is more difficult.

How do you view the source code?

In most Internet browsers, you can easily view a website’s source code. It is usually a matter of pressing the right mouse button. In the menu that then appears, choose “Show source code. The HTML code of the website then appears in a new window. With apps, it is not simply possible to view the underlying code. Some developers do choose to share their code on an open source platform such as Github.

It is worth noting that a source code is copyrighted, just like normal text. So if you just copy code from another site or application, it is punishable.

Why is good source code important?

Brthrs is committed to delivering good code. This is important not only to make sites and apps run faster and more stable. Google rewards websites with clean and structured code with higher indexing. With apps, something else comes into play: if your application is not well put together, Apple or Google can reject it in their app store. As a result, the development process takes longer.

At Brthrs, we develop our sites and apps according to the very latest best practices. This produces the best quality. To promote this, we use highly regarded frameworks, for example. Want to know more about this? Please feel free to send us a message.
