What is an issue?

An issue or bug is a problem in a website or app. A good, digital product naturally has as few issues as possible. Yet bugs arise even in the best apps. The main thing is to detect and solve them as soon as possible. Learn how Brthrs prevents problems with your digital product on this page.

How do you avoid issues or bugs in your app?

It is very difficult to avoid issues in an app or website. Making mistakes is human, and sometimes a problem arises through no fault of your own. For example, if something suddenly changes in the operating system the app is running on. Therefore, it is especially important to identify and fix issues as soon as possible.

Here’s what to look out for if you want to avoid issues:

  • Make sure your app or website is up to date: if your app, or parts of your code, are out of date, errors are more likely to occur. For example, if your code no longer matches the platform it is running on, such as iOS or WordPress.
  • Get an overview of your app or website’s code: if your source code is a mess, errors quickly arise. Especially when multiple people are working on a project. Moreover, with messy code, it is harder to detect problems when an error occurs.
  • Install an issue tracker: one way to keep track is to install an issue tracker. Each bug is noted in this, as well as the person working on it. When something is completed you can check it off. A well-known example of an issue tracker is Jira.

How do you fix issues or bugs in your app?

Using best practices and frameworks makes it easier to fix issues. Frameworks are frequently updated and used by many people. Bugs that occur to you often occur to others. Brthrs always uses proven frameworks as the basis for websites and apps. Want to know more about the methods we use to develop bug-free digital products? Feel free to send us a message!
