What is a wireframe?

A wireframe is a visual representation of a website or app. This presents the layout as well as the functionalities of the digital product. Sometimes wireframes are partially interactive.

What are the characteristics of a wireframe?

A wireframe is important to both the developer and the client. It makes the operation of the website or app visible. This allows you to see what works well and what doesn’t. By making certain parts interactive, functionalities are even more tangible. It then moves toward a prototype.

These are the characteristics of a good wireframe:

  • It is not focused on design ( such as color and fonts), but functionalities
  • It clearly shows the structure and layout of the app or website
  • It clearly shows how the user interface works

What are the benefits of a wireframe?

Brthrs creates wireframes for every digital product we develop. That fits well with our agile way of working. We often make sure these wireframes are interactive by using programs such as Adobe XD and InVision. This gives the client an early idea of what the app or website will look like. This leads to a better final product.
